Ehhh, bitter sweet?

Just found out that my ex-boyfriend is engaged. Happy for the guy, no doubt. He is an amazing man - hardworking, lawyer, great family, good looking - and deserves to have the best in life. But now what? I know what I am supposed to say and how I'm supposed to react, that's easy enough. I mean, how does a non-married, ex-girlfriend feel about herself after finding out that her ex boyfriend that she dated for 4 years is engaged?

Well let me tell you my first reaction - "to her?". lol. Although I only know her by pics on Facebook, I'm sure she's a lovely girl. My relationship with her has been very, very minimal. The only other time she's ever communicated with me was to have me help her plan a surprise birthday party for my ex - her current. It was totally random since I have never, ever met the gal nor spoken to her in my life. Also, she volunteered to refer me to her old college friend to room with for a summer when she found out I was going to spend a summer in Boston. Weird.

So what's my relationship with him now? We don't speak on a regular basis but keep in touch via email and Facebook. I hold him in a special place in my heart. He's the man that taught me what love is. I'd had other boyfriends before him but nothing compared to what I felt for him during our relationship. I was sooooooo in love with him and he was with me. Awwww :) Great memories. We broke up because we grew apart. After four years we both were still in college and working towards our own goals and it didn't work out. We've never had ill feelings for each other.
